About
Chef Hideyuki Takahashi brings one of the most formidable Japanese culinary biographies in Germany to TOKI. Trained at one of Japan's most renowned kaiseki restaurants, he subsequently worked at a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in Singapore, served four years as an instructor at the Tokyo Sushi Academy, led a yakitori kitchen in Tokyo, managed a Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong, and spent seven years as head chef at a Japanese restaurant in Germany before opening TOKI in 2025. The result is a restaurant of rare depth: a 3, 5 or 7-course omakase programme on Tuesday through Thursday evenings, and a more concentrated 5 or 7-course omakase on Friday and Saturday evenings, supplemented by lunch service on those days. As Takahashi's own description puts it, TOKI offers 'ein Stück Japan hautnah erleben' — experiencing a piece of Japan up close.
