About
Kioku Sake Bar occupies the ground floor of Raffles London at The OWO — the former Old War Office — as an intimate 25-seat drinks destination distinct from the sixth-floor Kioku restaurant above. Michelin-starred chef Endo Kazutoshi designed the concept and invited Sake Samurai Natsuki Kikuya to curate what is now Europe's largest sake collection, offered alongside Japanese-inspired cocktails that blend tradition with innovation. The bar is modelled on Japan's traditional listening bar culture, creating a hushed, contemplative atmosphere in one of London's most historically significant buildings. Small plates accompany the sake and cocktail programme, making Kioku Sake Bar a complete late-evening destination.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- Europe's largest sake collection under one roof, curated by Sake Samurai Natsuki Kikuya — a reference-level sake experience available nowhere else in London.
- Designed by Michelin-starred chef Endo Kazutoshi, whose creative vision ensures the bar carries the same Japanese philosophical coherence as his acclaimed restaurant above.
- The intimate 25-seat format within the historic Old War Office — one of London's most iconic listed buildings — creates an atmosphere of quiet distinction.
- The listening bar concept, drawn from Japan's sake-bar tradition of slow, contemplative drinking, offers an experience entirely unlike London's typical cocktail bar culture.
Open Wed-Sat evenings only; reservations strongly recommended
