About
Mayha relocated from Beirut to Marylebone's Chiltern Street following the 2020 explosion that destroyed its original home, and has since earned recognition in the Michelin Guide for Good Cooking. The 11-seat curved wooden counter dominates the compact room, lit by tree-inspired ambient fixtures that create an intimate theatrical space. Head chef Yuichi Nakaya (Japanese) and co-chef Jurek Wasio lead a highly seasonal omakase menu built around a generous nigiri selection, sashimi courses, grilled seafood and luxury ingredients such as wagyu beef sirloin. Lunch is offered at £100 per person and dinner at £180; a shorter lunch bento at £78 is available by prior email reservation. Harper's Bazaar named it among London's best Japanese restaurants.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
  • Michelin Guide-listed for Good Cooking — a rare accolade for a small, independent Japanese counter in London.
  • Chef Yuichi Nakaya's seasonal omakase changes with every sitting, with the nigiri section showcasing exceptional technical refinement.
  • With only 11 counter seats, every service is an intimate, chef-led experience — the closest London gets to an authentic Japanese kappo counter.
  • The room's design — frosted windows, tree-inspired lighting, curved wood counter — creates an atmosphere of quiet mystery that enhances the culinary narrative.

Reservations essential; dinner omakase £180 per person, lunch £100 per person
