About
When Hiroshi Kitano and his partners opened Otto Yakitori in 2017, they introduced Montreal to a style of Japanese dining — focused, skewer-centred, convivial and late-night — that the city had not previously experienced. The menu centres on yakitori over charcoal alongside a rotating selection of Japanese small plates including exceptional uni chawanmushi, fresh sashimi, and deeply flavoured ramen. Kitano has since expanded to Kitano Shokudo and Yakitori Hibahihi, but the original Otto remains the heart of his restaurant group. The late kitchen and vibrant atmosphere keep it relevant and packed year-round.
