About
Angel's Share is a landmark in the history of American cocktail culture, founded in 1993 in the East Village by Tony Yoshida. After closing in March 2022, the bar was revived in June 2023 by Erina Yoshida — Tony's daughter — at a new location on Grove Street in the West Village. The 65-seat space retains the bar's signature gold-and-blue cherub mural, the original front door, and the antique chandelier, alongside its famous etiquette rules: no standing at the bar, no parties larger than four, no reservations. The 27-cocktail menu, each named after a jazz song, blends Japanese shochu, whisky, sake, and mezcal with precise, seasonally inspired technique. Small plates including sashimi and karaage are served from the in-house kitchen. The revived Angel's Share was ranked #43 on North America's 50 Best Bars in both 2024 and 2025.
