About
Mitsuru opened in late 2024 as a collaboration between chef-owner Mitsuru Tamura, a 20-year veteran of the legendary Sushi Yasuda, and Grant Reynolds of natural wine bar Parcelle. The restaurant occupies a warm, living-room-style space on West 4th Street in Greenwich Village, with two distinct dining modes: a relaxed a la carte dining room offering hand rolls, sushi, and Japanese small plates alongside an extraordinary natural wine and sake list of 500-plus bottles; and an 8-seat omakase counter where Tamura presides nightly. The Sushi-Only Omakase ($175 per person) features approximately 14 pieces of Edomae-style nigiri and a hand roll; the Chef's Omakase ($275) adds seasonal otsumami and dessert. Counter seatings run at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Eater NY awarded a glowing review, and The Sushi Legend and Condé Nast Traveler have praised it among the city's best neighborhood sushi experiences. The restaurant received a Michelin Plate designation in 2025.
