About
Shota Omakase earned its first Michelin star within a year of opening in August 2023, an extraordinary achievement for a Brooklyn counter. Chef and owner Cheng Lin trained at Hatsuhana, Sushi Seki, and ITO — three of New York's most respected Japanese sushi institutions — and that lineage is evident in every deliberate detail of the meal. The 18-course omakase at $195 per person features Japan-sourced fish, Inochi-no Ichi premium sushi rice, and a ponzu aged for three months. The Michelin Guide inspector praised the seasonal, intention-driven parade of nigiri, where rice is refreshed repeatedly throughout the meal. The 24-bar-seat counter near Domino Park offers two seatings nightly, Tuesday through Sunday.
