About
Sushi Yoshitake NYC marks the first North American outpost of Chef Masahiro Yoshitake's acclaimed Ginza sushiya, which holds three Michelin stars in Tokyo and was the creative force behind three-Michelin-star Sushi Shikon in Hong Kong. The New York location is part of the 550 Madison project — a landmark Philip Johnson-designed tower that also houses Cote 550 and Bar Chimera, all produced by Gracious Hospitality Management. Chef Yoshitake is known for his Edomae technique, seasonal procuring, and a deeply personalized omakase style that begins with precisely sourced appetizers before moving through expertly aged and cured nigiri. Reservations opened via Resy in April 2026.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- Chef Masahiro Yoshitake simultaneously ran two three-Michelin-starred restaurants in Tokyo and Hong Kong — an unprecedented achievement that defines the chef's ceiling.
- The North American debut of one of Tokyo's most revered sushiya brings a level of Edomae pedigree with few peers in the Western Hemisphere.
- Located in the Philip Johnson-designed 550 Madison tower, the setting provides an iconic architectural backdrop for one of New York's most anticipated restaurant openings.
- Yoshitake's hallmark abalone liver sauce and hyper-seasonal procuring philosophy are expected to translate faithfully into the New York menu.
Opened spring 2026 as part of the 550 Madison project. Reservation details via Resy. Pricing TBD but expected ¥¥¥¥. Partner: Gracious Hospitality Management.
