About
Origami Ramen Bar was born from Osaka-born chef Yusuke Kuroda's deep immersion in Japanese street food culture. Before coming to the United States, Kuroda spent years working in Japanese restaurants across Japan, then continued his culinary journey in South Carolina and California, including a stint at Nobu Beverly Hills. Opening Origami in 2020 in Ahwatukee, he brought traditional ramen-making discipline — fresh noodles, long-simmered broths, careful seasoning — to a city with limited authentic ramen options. Axios Phoenix and Phoenix New Times have both documented Kuroda's Japanese background and the restaurant's authenticity. It shares ownership with Yuzu Omakase in North Phoenix.
