About
Sushi Mahana is a passion project born of two Japanese professionals' commitment to excellence. Japanese owner Yuki Aida and master sushi chef Hiroshi Hoshiko opened the restaurant in January 2023 in North Vancouver, just four blocks from Lonsdale Quay. Their 25-course Kyushu-style omakase is a detailed journey through seasonal Japanese cuisine, with fish sourced both locally from BC waters and from Tokyo, with Hoshiko applying the traditional Ike jime killing technique to ensure superior flavour and texture. Vancouver Magazine named it a 2024 Honourable Mention for Best Upscale Japanese. Every course, from chilled corn velouté to Miyazaki wagyu, is presented with the care and precision of a chef who has dedicated his life to this craft.
