About
Opened in 2008 by Japanese restaurateur Masami Wakabayashi, Zakkushi on Main brought the group's signature yakitori culture from the West End to Mount Pleasant's Main Street corridor. The kitchen employs the same authentic binchotan charcoal technique as the original Denman location, carefully grilling chicken, vegetables, and seafood skewers to order. Weekend brunch service begins at noon, making it one of Vancouver's rare yakitori destinations open across the full day on weekends. The industrial-chic Main Street setting attracts a mix of Japanese food devotees and neighbourhood regulars.
