About
Ichigo Ichie has been one of the Plateau's most lively and beloved Japanese dining destinations since its founding, with Japanese head chef Tsuneko Hirata steering a kitchen that produces genuine izakaya cooking at its most convivial. The sprawling multi-floor space accommodates a broad menu of tonkotsu ramen — made with the same philosophy as its sister restaurant Yokato Yokabai — alongside karaage, grilled skewers, and Japanese small plates. A curated sake programme and energetic atmosphere make it a go-to for groups. The restaurant does not accept reservations for most seating.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- Japanese head chef Tsuneko Hirata brings authentic izakaya culinary tradition to every dish
- Acclaimed tonkotsu ramen on par with sister restaurant Michelin-recommended Yokato Yokabai
- Four-storey izakaya with a lively atmosphere ideal for groups and sake evenings
- Broad menu spanning ramen, karaage, grilled skewers, and classic izakaya tapas
