About
Established in 1997 at the Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel on Ploshchad Evropy, Sumosan holds the distinction of being Moscow's first contemporary Japanese restaurant. Founder Alexander Wolkow built the concept around a firm principle: authenticity through Japanese chefs only, a standard maintained across nearly three decades of operation. The open sushi bar is the centrepiece of a dining room that merges polished hotel elegance with the focused precision of Tokyo's finest sushi counters. Signature preparations include black cod miso and elaborate tuna rolls. The brand has since expanded internationally, with Moscow remaining the founding outpost of the Sumosan name.
