About
Otoki is the most Japan-pedigreed new opening in Mumbai's 2025 class: chef Mohit Singh apprenticed at three-Michelin-star Kikunoi Honten (Kyoto), completed the Tsuji culinary programme in Osaka, and honed his craft at Four Seasons Mumbai, Inddee (Bangkok) and Boury (Belgium). Owners Anurag Katriar and Pranav Rungta deliberately sought a Japanese-trained chef to anchor the kitchen. The beverage programme, led by Maia Laifungbam — India's first certified sake brewer — is among the most sophisticated sake lists in the country. The menu moves through kozara small plates, pristine sashimi, hand rolls and robata, all rooted in traditional Japanese techniques and rare imported ingredients such as kanpyo, ikura and sansho peppers.
