About
Ishin was founded in 1997 by Hirotaka Machida and has become a Berlin institution: the branch on Mittelstraße near Friedrichstraße was among the first locations and remains the most popular Japanese lunch spot in central Berlin. The concept has stayed true to itself for nearly three decades: fresh sushi, affordable menus (Happy Hour and Happy Day), and an unpretentious, family-run Japanese atmosphere. On weekdays, queues often form at lunchtime.
